FAQs

All home games (U6-AA) will be played at Emerald Hills Reserve until further notice.
This is due to the scheduled upgrade to Harrington Park Reserve (The Hive).

Children must be turning 5 this year to play football.

All players, coaches and managers must register through Play Football.  Players can register themselves or parents/guardians can register multiple siblings via one login. If you are a returning player, coach or manager, you must use your previous login.

If this is your first season, you will need to create an account and search for Harrington United Football Club.

Important information: If using a kid’s active voucher you need the number before your register.

You must apply online with Service NSW for a Active Kids Voucher. If you receive approval for your child/guardian you will receive an email. The email contains information you will need to provide when processing the payment.

Registration costs are listed on our registration page. Our registrations include all playing costs and referee fees. If you have a Kids Active Voucher, $100 is taken off when you register your child/guardian.

Children between Under 6 and Under 11 (under 12 for girls) will be playing small sided games.

This means that for:

  • Under 6’s and 7’s there are 4 players on the pitch.
  • Under 8’s and 9’s play 7 v 7.
  • Under 10’s and 11’s play 9v9.

Full details are available here.

The club will provide you or your child with a jersey for the season. The club’s shorts and socks must be worn and are available for purchase online or through the club. All players MUST be in the correct attire or risk being removed from the field or unable to play. Shin pads and football boots must be worn and available at most sport stores.

We make every effort to place children into teams of their choosing. However, if you are joining an existing junior team, we may need to speak to the coach. For senior teams, players are selected by grading process. Dates and times for grading will be made available via our social media and website.

If you have registered for U6s to U11s, the club will invite you to attend a Muster Day (usually in February every year) where you will meet your team and coaches. Players in ages groups U12s to U17s may need to attend grading for squad selections.

For senior teams, the team manager or coach will contact you once grading has taken place.

Most teams train 1 night per week. Training times are at the discretion of the coach.

Junior teams train (under 6 -under 17) at The Narellan Sports Hub (6 Porrende St, Narellan). Senior teams train at Emerald Hills Reserve.

Juniors and Seniors play at Emerald Hills Reserve.

The Hornets participate in the Macarthur Football Association. Affiliated teams stretch from Glenfield to Appin, Tahmoor and Burragorang (Oakdale). There are many teams in the greater Camden and Campbelltown areas.

Junior teams (under 6 -under 17) play on Saturdays. Most senior teams play on Sunday with over 35’s playing on Friday nights.

Depending on the competition, most start toward the end of March or the start of April every year.
